Cookies on Christmas Eve

Tyler, Cameron and I made sugar cookies and frosted them then set some aside (after a taste test of course) for Santa and the reindeer. Did you know that Reindeer do not like sprinkles on their cookies? I had no idea but Cam knew.

Cam made it and sleeps in his own bed now!!!

He made it and then some! He still wakes up a few times a night but he goes right back to bed and is really good about it! I take the blame for the light sleepers genes since I have them too! Here is a picture of him with his new toy! He is wearing jammies because today was jammie day at school!

Battle of the beds part 3 should now be called Cam's bedtime rituals

8 pm...a little later than I have been putting him to be dbut not too much later. I was taking my math final (a whole other story) and got back home just before 8pm. I helped Cam get into his jammies and after a bathroom break Daddy read the first story (a MAgic School bus book) then I read him a story (The Littlest Drummer Mouse) then it was Tyler's turn to read a story ( I dont know what he read). Cam then got a bunch of books into his bed and was looking at them after hugs and kisses all around. about twenty minutes later and another bathroom break (how does such a small body have a bladder like that?) he was escorted back to bed with no from all to the request of back rubs. Then not another sound was heard until 330 when he awoke calling for Mommy. Daddy tucked him back in bed and he slept until 7am! Yeah!!!!

Battle of the Bed part 2

Last night after his bath Cam went to bed with no problems...two stories (one from me and one from Ty) and only a couple of reminders! He woke up and had to go to the bathroom (for real) around 1130 (I think) and that was pretty much it! I do sleep walk some so I may have taken care of him a few more times but not many!!! 3 more days to go until he gets his truck! :)

Battle of the Bed part 1

So last night was the first in a series that will hopefully last forever! I had my math class last night so Will and Kim babysat and put Cam to bed at about 7:45...Will sang to him, Kim read abook, Will read a book....Kim rubbed his back....then I got home about 8:45. I kissed him good night....Ty kissed him and rubbed his back.....Cam came down the stairs....Mom took him back up. I rubbed his back and his tummy.....Then he had to go to the bathroom (he really did)....I took him back upstairs and shut his door. (it is a half door) he called a few times saying he needed his mommy...then he had to go to the bathroom again (he didn't) (about 945 now)back to bed....yelling again....back to bed....yelling again....back to bed....(now about 1045) 11 pm finally silent....door unlocked and he is woke up in a good mood at 630! Please tell me it will be easier tonight!!!

Hopefully Santa wasn't watching last night!!!!

While I was playing my hockey game and Leo was asleep Cam crept down the stairs and opened one of his presents....seconds later I got home! I should have taken a picture of him but here is the damage....The only way he gets it now is if he sleeps in his own bed....all night....for five nights! He might get it by the time he is Tyler's age! Tyler's reaction was "wow! I never did that!!!!"

North Pole Wins Again!

Despite only suiting out 10 player and a goalie NP still skated circles around the opponent. 6 players were sat until they get their grades up to at minimum a 2.5 and one player has a broken wrist.




Hockey Patriots dominate Knights

FAIRBANKS — The North Pole Patriots dominated the Colony Knights Saturday afternoon, putting the equivalent of two touchdowns on the scoreboard in a 14-0 hockey shutout at the Polar Ice Arena.

The Patriots passed the puck around with eight different players scoring one or more goals.

North Pole’s first goal came in the opening minute with senior center Nick Crutcher knocking it in. Less than a minute later, junior right wing DJ Carnley added his first of two goals.

“We tried to just keep it simple and take shots,” Carnley said.

Pressing the Knights’ defense hard, North Pole’s Jordan Pascoe made a heads-up play that put the Patriots up 3-0 at 9:58 into the first period. The first shot initially was blocked by Colony’s Heather Gray, but Pascoe picked up the deflection and scored.

Seven seconds later, senior center Matt Sanford took the puck from the faceoff uncontested to the net to tally the first goal of his hat trick.

The Knights then switched goaltenders and put in Forrest Savel.

After getting their next few shots blocked, the Patriots returned to their scoring ways with junior Vance Bridgman beating all defenders and taking the puck straight to the net to make the score 5-0.

Savel, fighting hard, blocked back-to-back shots from the Patriots only to have the next shot bounce off his pads right to Alex Tilman, who snuck it past him for another goal.

With less than two minutes to play in the first period, the puck seemed to be stuck behind the Colony goal as the Patriots continually cycled while looking for the shot. Finally, with 53 seconds on the clock, Sanford got the puck, circled around the goal, and wrapped it in to send the Patriots into the locker room up 7-0.

“I have to give credit to all the guys,” Sanford said of the score. “I was just in the right place at the right time.”

The Knights came out of intermission recharged on defense, and did not let the Patriots score again until just over four minutes were left in the second period.

Then, back-to-back goals by Bridgman within 32 seconds took the fight out of the Knights and gave North Pole an 11-0 lead.

“Colony is usually known to be a rough team,” Bridgman said. “But I didn’t feel they brought that today.”

Colony made another goalie switch to start the third by inserting sophomore Jason Murak.

The change in goalies seemed to make no difference to sophomore Jared Linnell, as he scored early in the period. Sanford and Linnell provided the final two goals to end the blowout.

Patriots head coach Jason Storey said that despite the lopsided score, his team made a lot of little mistakes.

“We still have a long way to go,” Storey said.

Linnell also said that he and his teammates need to “stop taking penalties.”

Despite the mistakes, the Patriots go into the holidays happy.

“This was our last game before Christmas break,” Bridgman said. “We tried to end on a high note.”

The Patriots now will split into comp teams until the team reunites to play high school games in January.
