I had so many great plans for today...but then more and more things kept piling up! I was planning to get the carpets shamppoed and while they were doing that I planned to bake cookies and wrap Christmas presents. Except I was reminded yesterday by a friend about a final in my computer math class....I hadnt even studied! So instead of wrapping gifts I studied like mad and baked cookies (10 dozen cookies!) waiting and waiting for the carpet guys to show up so I could take the test. Finally I called them and they said they werent coming....maybe tomorrow. Argh...I moved all the furniture for nothing! Oh well I could now go take my test. It was very hard....go figure with trying to cram the info in at the last minute! Then I went to exchange some pants at Gottschalks. Oh I for got to mention I was going to have to take Little Bit the cat to the vet but realizing I couldnt do it all I changed that appointment for tomorrow. So after Gottschalks I went to Tyler's high school practice and then together we went to pick up Cameron from day care. Then we picked up some quick dinner and Tylers raffle tickets that he has to sell tonight at the Ice Dog game. Then we dropped Ty at the game (Esther is bringing him back home) and Cam and I returned home to eat dinner and watch Harry Potter! Tomorrow the vet, hopefully the carpets, skating then ending the evening with fireworks in North Pole! :)

FAIRBANKS — The Lathrop Malemutes scored three goals in a span of less than three minutes early in the second period to take control and went on to post a 5-2 high school hockey victory over the North Pole Patriots Wednesday evening at the Big Dipper Ice Arena.
It was the Mid Alaska Conference opener for both teams, after both enjoyed some great success in early-season nonconference games.
“Both teams were coming back together after having players go outside with their comp teams during Thanksgiving and I think both teams handled it well,” Lathrop coach Shawn Lundgren said via telephone after the game.
“We consider North Pole one of the teams to beat in our region and we’re going to have to continually improve to stay ahead of them,” Lundgren said. “Every dog has its day, and today was our day.”
The Malemutes scored the only goal of the first period when Taylor Munson found paydirt with 1:29 remaining off an assist from Alec Hajdukovich.
Then, the Malemutes erupted for three goals in 2 minutes and 36 seconds to grab a commanding 4-0 advantage.
Johnson Anderson touched off the rally with a goal at 10:55, with assists going to Kyle Olson and Brooks Poe.
Hajdukovich deposited the pill into the back of the net off an assist from Colton Wolter at 9:30.
Patrick Brady finished off the scoring by scoring at the 8:19 mark with an assist going to Munson.
North Pole finally got on the scoreboard with 6:19 left in the second on a goal by Hank Parra that was set by Jared Linnell and Tyler Keturi.
The Malemutes regained a three-goal lead with 3:29 left in the second when Munson scored after being set up by Bryan Gundersen and Hajdukovich.
North Pole’s Nick Crutcher scored an unassisted, short-handed goal with 7:04 remaining in the game to round out the scoring.
Stephon Williams picked up the win for Lathrop by stopping all but two of the 28 shots that came his way. North Pole goalie Phoenix Copley stopped 27 shots.
“Stephon played well and got some big saves for us,” Lundgren said. “We scored on the opportunities we had so I was pleased with the collective team effort.”
The Malemutes are 7-1 overall and 1-0 in the MAC heading into a two-game series at Juneau-Douglas this weekend.
This is Juneau’s first year in the conference.
North Pole returns to action hosting West Valley at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday at the Polar Ice Center.

NP loses to Lathrop....good game Stephon!
Well it wasnt a very good game from the North Pole perspective. We lost 5-2. The team looked flat...maybe nervous playing Lathrop???? I dont know. Ty had a few shots that were just shy of scoring, although he did get one assist...the other team hit the pipe tons, (I am very thankful for pipes!) Stephon Williams, the goalie from Tyler's comp team, was Lathrop's goalie and he did a great job! Next time though, Stephon, you better watch out! :) I stole this picture from my friend Patty's blog! Arctic Lions, Icebreakers bring back titles from Anchorage

FAIRBANKS — A pair of youth hockey teams from Fairbanks captured tournament championships during Thanksgiving weekend in Anchorage.
The Arctic Lions U16 Tier II Midget team brought home the championship trophy from the Alaska Wolves Thanksgiving Tournament, while the Icebreakers U10 girls team earned the title in the Fred Meyer Turkey Shootout Invitational against several coed Squirt D teams that were comprised mostly of boys.
The Arctic Lions outscored the opposition 19-1 in claiming the Midget championship, but the championship game was anything but easy. Playing against the host Southcentral Wolves in the title games, the Arctic Lions were held to a scoreless tie through regulation and overtime. The contest went to a shootout that the Arctic Lions won 3-1 to claim a 1-0 triumph.
In the pool-play portion of the tournament, the Arctic Lions beat the Bulldogs with a 5-0 score, Kenai by a 4-1 margin and Mat-Su, 2-0. The Arctic Lions notched an impressive 7-0 win over the Southcentral Bantam A team.
The Arctic Lions are coached by Jordy Wolter. The Fairbanks squad has amassed a 28-2-4 record so far this season. Their next tournament is during the Christmas holiday break at Richmond, British Columbia.
Players on the team are Jesse Cartier, Markus Daniels, Brandon Edson, Patrick Evans, Seth Haines, Tyler Keturi, Dorran Masters, Lane Nichols, Brooklyn Panfil, Jordan Pascoe, Tanner Shoemaker, Stephon Williams, Zachary Winner, Matthew Wixon, Colton Wolter and Jacob Wolter. Darren Edson serves as the assistant coach.
